how hard would it be to put together my own chains if i got a 100' roll of full chiesel? what is the process of doing that?

Buy a chain breaker and spinner. About $50 each for reasonable units. If you don't want to count every link, buy a chain guide for about $12-$15 to measure your chains.

The rest is easy.

I just got done with a "kluge" chain. Since my local Stihl dealer has become a bit of a pain in the a$$ when it comes to chain, I bought two 72 DL loops, opened them, and repinned them as a 136. In a bind. Going to buy a 25ft roll of rip chain from Bailey's next week or so, which will get me 3 loops. My goal is to get a 100 foot roll by fall of standard chain.

Easy. Just got done modifying the chain for ripping. Long chains are a real pain. That's a lot of teeth.

Good luck, and have fun...and yes, you should save some money.

The links come in the box with the chain. The Spinner "spins" the rivits onto the strap. No "press" required.

Here's the link you need.
