Makita 6421->54mm bb kit and hd air filter kit?

So my friend has a couple 6421s, one had the decompression valve on the right side instead of the left, this is the one he chose for the conversion. The cylinder is a bit too tall for the top cover and the hd kit cover isn't meshing, what did he miss or will new plastics fix it?
