Makita DCS34 fuel line?

Any reason I can't replace this fuel line assembly with readily available fuel line? I understand I'll have to get a different tank grommet. How would I go about blocking off the hard line going from the primer to the carb?

Ended up using what I had but cleaned out the tank vent. I put it back together and it seems to run fine
