I have a sugar Maple, say, about 30 years old. I just noticed the leaves have died after about two week of growth. I have a whole yard of these trees and no others have this problem. Any suggestion? Sorry no pics yet.

Frost was kind of my thought too although I haven't seen frost damage on Sugar Maple around here this year. Some on Tulip Tree and Silver Maple though. A lot of times a microclimate can cause issues with a specific tree (tree in low area or warmer area where leaf development is advanced). Also trees can sometimes develop a few days different making some susceptible and others not.

I guess frost is a good possibility... any other treatments done to the ground around the effected tree that is not present in the other areas?

Had some high winds around here recently that selectively blew lots of maple leaves off.....Interested to see what the end result is....
