These marketeers, or is it marketers, or marketears?,they think they have tried everything.

Food for thought:

How about bright blue chainsaws?

How about left hand chainsaws, that should be good for about 15 % of the market.

How about real turbochargers?

How about clear plastic "quick change" chain oil cartridges that would reduce the overall weight of the saw package?

How about portable, rechargable, detachable electric cranking units for those with more money than muscle?

Return of the manual oiler for the heavy duty situations, but in a very different way than before?

How about changing the whole current concept of separate bars, chains, and sprockets.

I'm just a retired ME from TRW with a mind, and sense of mischief, that just isn't ready to retire.

This is a great forum. Thank you all for putting up with my sometimes testing posts.

--------

I'm waiting for the Darth Vadar saw, no chain at all, just a light beam, and the weight of a flashlight.

Hey Snydert, OPEN A WINDOW! you're not getting enough fresh air. LOL. I wonder if this is how products are really developed?

>How about bright blue chainsaws?

Homelite did metallic blue.

>How about real turbochargers?

McCulloch, way back when. Kaboom.

>How about portable, rechargable, detachable electric cranking >units for those with more money than muscle?

Also McCulloch. Some of their x-10 series were electric start. Not detachable, though.

A very different way? Like mind controlled?

Quit running those saws with the garage door closed. :)

I think you may have something with the chain/bar/sprocket thing as most home users have little luck with sharpening a more disposable quick change cutting edge might fly.
Because this might be the start of something profitable I know I can rely on everyone here to keep it secret till we go to market with it.
The idea....
Mass produced bar/chain/drive systems that twist lock to the power head like Hilti system.
As they would be produce in large quantities in a small range of sizes prices would fall substantially.
They could be purchased anywhere as no skill would be required to figure out the bar/chain/sprocket combo.
Saws would be sold with two cutting assemblies, so the more thrifty user could have one sharpened while using the other those who can't be bothered buy a new one.
I'm going out and get a new truck tomorrow with the millions that will soon flow in, your in for 50% snydert:D

As far as the Darth Vader saw, I heard that there is a company developing a lawnmower that cuts grass with a lazer instead of a blade. I think it won't be to long till you will see your lazer saw snydert. Hey, got any Ceramic pistons for sale? LOL!:D

Well as they say, truth is often stranger than fiction. Only a week goes by since snydert muses over multi function chainsaw design and someone gives me one.
I did some tree work for a lady in town including her Laurel hedge when I did the neighbors side he is thankful and says I can have his old saw. The old saw turns out to be a Mall Hornet built who knows how long ago, the interesting thing is when new it came as a kit with two bars(24" and 48") two post hole augers ( 6" and 12") and a electrical generator you could weld with.
The bar had a release of some sort and you could then put on another attachment I haven't had time to really check it out, maybe someone here could veirify that all this is true as it only came with one bar.

Also could someone nuke the little bouncy blue guy as it is not me that attaches him, he just shows up.

G'day Keener,

Look at your preferences/options, under your "signature". The little blue thing might be there. Delete it!
Cheers
Charlie

Hey Keener, sounds like you found a real treasure trove. Can you post a pic of the Hornet and its attachments?

Thanks Josh.

Thanks slabberman for the fix on the blue guy I feel that I can post now and not get annoyed.
Methoss084, the guy when he gave me the saw described all this neat stuff that was supposed to come with it but all I got was the powerhead and 24" bar, thats why I was asking if the kit thing was true.
And I would love to post a picture of it but don't have digital cam or scanner, our taxes are so high in Canada that we don't have any money left over for neat toys like that. I am thinking that I should write one off on the business though, any and all suggestions on a good make and model would be welcome.
I think this forum in combination with the ability to send images back and forth is very valuable in the tech help that can be exchanged i.e after reading Gypo's and Walt's bar tune up tips I fixed a bar I was going to replace therefore the money was put to other use ( went toward an 084 I got)
