Need a new saw, Stihl 250 was stolen last week. I have been in lawn care for over 35 yrs but know very little about saws. I only need a saw for occasional limb trimming and storm clean-up.

All my 2 cycle equipment is maruyama (very underatted). Had my mind made up to buy an Echo cs-400 after researching this forum. Then i read somewhere where Dolmar makes saws for Maruyama. Looks like Dolmar PS-421 is a Maruyama MCV42. The Maruyama has a 15" bar (odd?) and Dolmar has 16".
I called dealers they don't have a clue, i then called Dolmar and Maruyama and they both say yes but did not know any specifics such as power or quality of parts.

Anyone here know anything? what saw would you buy? looking for 40-45cc around 10lbs.
Dealers i buy from have Echo and Maruyama but i'm not opposed to buying stihl chainsaws (won't touch any other Stihl 2 cycle).

thanks

The MCV51 is a Dolmar PS-5105 but in a different colour scheme than Dolmar/Makita.
Don't know about their other chainsaw models but have to agree with you that yes, Maruyama makes some seriously good stuff.
