Does anyone know if this K2 has a fuel stabilizer in it or not ??I'm gettin' ready to go and mix up a couple gallons and would like to know if I need to add any to it??

Thanks for any info
Later Rob.

Rob,
I looked at the bottle that i have here it dosn't say.
If it was me i would just mix a couple gal. and get it used up this week.

Yeah thats what I figured the bottle does'nt say maybe I'll just throw a little in anyway can't hurt any..Check your email Eric.By the way what do you pay for K2?I bought a 64oz bottle and it cost me $24.17..

Rob; 2 gallons of fuel shouldn't last you long enough to worry about stabilizing. That is unless you are just using it for perfume to make you smell like a logger. LOL!

Frank

No 2 gallons won't last maybe a day but I try to keep stabilizer running through the saw as much as possible,I do use it for colonge not perfume I'm not a girl :D Gonna be some cold cuttin' tomorrow high is supposed to be -15*

Rob,
A quick look at My bottle doesnt answer the question.I highly doubt if it has any stabil in it.A couple capfulls in the pre-mix couldnt hurt.
You're right, real men dont wear perfume............................

Rob do you shut off any of the air intake in this cold weather. I sure noticed I had to readjust the carb. The husky has advice to do so. The old duct tape trick is handy.

Frank

Frank,

Yes when it gets cold out I do use the old duct tape trick but so far this year I have'nt had to but tomorrow I may need to...

Ben,

I did'nt think it had any in it but there will be soon..when I add it...I'm not to worried about it going bad it's just I've been finding alot of water in the gas around here lately..

Thanks for the info

Rob,

Don't forget a little bit of antifreeze in your coffee. It'll keep your pecker from snapping off in this cold when ya take a leak.:D

Gtakeeper, K2 likely doesnt meet the jaso and iso spec because of the low smoke test. I am sure it would pass it in every other catagory. K2 is overkill and expensive. I prefer Mobil mx2t. If cost is no object Motul 800 is great as well. BTW Maxima doesnt list super m as being iso or jaso compliant either.

The old Duct tape trick should be employed whenever you dont know how to adjust the jets or don't know what the heck your talking about...And stihlmagnum, just how far can 2 gals. of gas break down in one day?

Rotax,

As far as the duct tape trick goes I only do this when I'm felling etc. in the snow like when I have to make a low stump cut I take 1 piece of tape a stick it to the bottom of the pull cord cover to keep the saw from sucking in all the unwanted snow and water,I don't use it to compensate for a misadjusted carb..As for the 2 gallons of gas breaking down in a day I know that it won't I just like to keep the stabil running through my saws at all times..Sorry about the confusion..Hey Robert are you gonna come out to Dans ECC???

later Rob..

How deep is this snow for christsake, guess I never have logged in deep snow. For the amount we get around here it is apparently not a problem...I still like the use of the duct tape method as I refered to it as another great use of a product.
For the record, I don't use stabil in the fuel mix as I try and keep fresh fuel around all the time usually 100 LL av. gas which may have other additives in it anyway and Maxima 927

I think I use about 10 gallons a year in my job. One gallon will fall , top and buck at least 10,000 ft. of hardwood logs, or about one tractor trailer load, plus process the tops into randon length firewood logs. I never worry about additives, its probably already in the mix or gas to some degree.
