Opti-2 claims "single mix", yet ratio varies depending on package size. WHY???

RTEK's do the same thing. I drill the jet out on them to the next size larger.

Are you drilling the pilot jet as well as the main jet?

I’ve had decent luck using the # 40 Suzuki pilot jet and the larger hole throttle plate in most of the duraforce mowers I’ve worked on. I haven’t had to enlarge a main jet yet.

Just the main, I also have ditched the plastic carb for a metal Proline one on some of the blowers.
Making the throttle plate hole bigger may be counter productive.

I’d love to see what metal carb you are talking about. Those plastic ones aren’t very good, and warp easily.

They are on ebay. I've only used them on the blowers as they don't have the vane style governor the mowers do.

I honestly can't understand the fascination with these hokey wonder oils at high numeric ratios.
