It cuts pretty good it needs some fine tuning but is a pretty sweet old sawThat saw is from the early 60s. Acres site is wrong, the 1-52 is 87cc. They are low rpm torque monsters, you can basically put any size bar on them and they just keep chugging along.

I think I am going to keep it just for a conversation piece and use it every now and agian I only paid 30 bucks for it so I think it should be worth keeping. That thing sure is heavy tho compared to the stihls I'm used to runninIf it started on the fourth pull you have a keeper.
(good engine and carb)
Very rarely when one is cold will they start that easily.
If you are going to keep it, it's worthwhile to find and download a SERVICE manual.
I think maybe the same service manual is used for the 1-40, 1-50 and maybe the 250 series of Mac's.
Lots of parts scattered around the internet. Chainsawr is a good place to review parts and cross reference info and ebay. Some of the parts are overpriced so shop around.

I use them old heavy Mac's sometimes after I get a great big log on the ground and just let the weight of the saw do the cutting. Can run it with one hand and drink a cup of coffee with the other while the saw is doing the cutting. Have to use both hands and a grunt to get it on top of the log.
