Nice climbing rig in the bottom pic. Do you use the 12" or 14" bar setup on that?

I know heimann has a lot of McCulloch Chain Saws, as well as myself, I was wondering if anybody else has a few McCullochs in their collection of Chain Saws, and are they for work, or for display. Thanks for your input. Bruce.

Well today I carried 6 of my McCullochs out of the Basement, and cut some wood I have piled up behind the barn on the huge concrete pad I used to use to pile manure on when I finished raising pigs to market weight.
I took out My Mini Mac 30, my 2 Mac 10-10 automatics, one that was in my family since new, and the other one I bought off of e Bay for $33.00 plus shipping, my $20.00 Mac 1-10scrapper I purchased out of a small engine repair shop's scrap pile, my Pro Mac 60, and my Pro Mac 700. I loaded them my portable work bench, and saw holder in the bottom, and carried it down to the manure yard behind the barn with my loader tractor. I was able to use all the chainsaws, but one. My Mac 10-10 Automatic that has been in the family. The 2 that I had purchased recently, I had to do a couple of minor carburetor adjustments, but after that, they ran really good.
The 2 saws that I purchased recently, I have to get some bicycle handlebar foam tape, and wrap up the bare wrap around handles on them, like I did the rest of my saws. Makes them nice and comfortable top work with after.
Tomorrow, if it doesn't rain, I'll be making more noise, and make the sawdust fly behind the barn.
Bruce.

That sounds like a good day.

Hoss.
Yes it was a good day. Once I got those 2 carburetors set, every thing went nice. I only cut for a couple of hours today, since it took a little bit to get things set up, and adjusted
OK, now since I've joined this web site, I've heard lots of guys talking about Muffler Modifications. What is this procedure, and what is the benefit form it?
I'm learning as I go here.
Your input is greatly appreciated. Bruce

Well muffler porting is a big can-o-worms on this site, but basically it is opening up or increasing the size of the exit port of a saw muffler and often including a removal or reduction of internal baffling in the muffler. I am no expert here and I am sure that some more knowledgeable folks will chime in. I have a few muffler ported saws and I can say that on the right saw it has made a difference that I can discern. Earlier saws generally had much bigger muffler exit ports and less baffling so older saws tend not to benefit as much from this. A rule of thumb that has worked well for me is to not make the exit port on the muffler more tham 80% of the muffler port size(at least without aggressive piston porting). Muffler porting also can make a saw run cooler as well. Be sure though, to readjust your carb after the modification.

Yup yup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I collect Mcculloch chainsaws of all sizes and shapes until the J.F. generation. No pictures just a lot of saws. Mini-Macs - 125s, any of them. Do not find many around here but when I do I usually try and buy them. Most of my smaller Stihls, Pioneers and Homelites will go away soon to make more room for Mccullochs.

Had a good run of luck finding 1-10 and 10-10 series saws early this year and then no more Macs to be found again. It gives me something to look for.
I have picked up a few off of e Bay. 1- Mac 10-10 Automatic,
1- Pro Mac 10-10, 4 Eager Beavers, 1 - Mac 110, not to badly priced even with shipping. Bruce.

Well I took 6 of my McCulloch Fleet of Chain Saws out behind the Barn today, and made lots of noise, and made the sawdust fly. All the saws I took everyone worked great.
My Mini Mac 30, Mac 1-10, 2 Mac 10-10 Automatics (one that was in the family since new 40 years ago), Pro Mac 60, and my Pro Mac 700.
I started cutting with my Mac 10-10 Automatic that has been in my family for 40 years, until I heard a POP, and the saw just quit. I looked and the spark plug was dangling off the spark plug wire.
The treads were stripped, in the power head, So some day I will have to get a thread repair kit for spark plugs. Other than that I cut a lot off wood in 4 to 5 hours .
Bruce.

OK, I'm going out on a limb here, but does ipls stands for parts lists?
I am presently bidding on some McCulloch Parts on e Bay, If I don't win my bid, would you happen to have by chance bar plates for Mac 10-10s.
I would need 2 pairs if possible. Used is OK, I'm not fussy. If you do, I'll talk to you after the e Bay auction is over. Figure out a price for the parts and shipping, and I'll make arrangements with you later, if I need them.
Thanks. Bruce.

yes Bruce, IPL stands for illustrated parts list

I guess we should do a thread for all the abbreviations:
WOT = wide open throttle
HS = high speed mixture screw
LS = low speed mixture screw
FUBAR = f (oops, I guess we all know what that one stands for!!!)

Yeah I guess we all know what FUBAR stands for. Thanks for repelling, and I assume that lol stands for Laugh Out Loud.
Bruce.

I must have about 25. From minimacs to 7-55. 3-25's. 47's, 33's, 15's, 250's, super55a, 110, 310. 410, and of course my 250 with the mc92 in it. I don't use them for firewood. I used to use a 1-71, but they're just too loud, and vibrate too much. I race the mc92 and one of the 250's. One of the 47's runs really well, I run that at our steam and gas show along with the 7-55. Here's a link to my 250 racing. It has a 9t/.375 sprocket and square ground chain.

Hi Bill, it's been a while since I had them all pulled off the shelves. I probably forgot about a few.
