Guy I know has an old McCulloch Mac 110 for sale, he said he'd sell it to me for $85...it's got a 16" bar on it and has the original case and it looks from the pics he sent to be in real good condition, it just don't run. I'm planning on getting it sunday, even though its a 2 hour drive.

110 or 1-10?

110 is a Mini Mac, not bad saws for their intended use but maybe not an $85 saw if you don't need a small one

1-10 is a 54 cc 10 Series model; since you indicated a 16" bar this is more likely. A 1-10 would have the McCulloch carburetor, probably a single needle "bullfrog" version. If the saw runs, O.K., if not, be prepared to learn an entirely new approach to carburetors and adjustments. For a saw in good condition that runs, good bar and chain, $85 is not unreasonable.

Tough to tell if there's sarcasm in the statement or not over the internets, but I do know it's not April 1st.

thanks for the thoughts, it's a 110, says automatic chain on it, its a real tiny saw, i thought it might be a good saw to climb with. but if it's not worth $85 then it aint worth the 2 hour drive proberly

They aren't exactly bad saws if they are running, they just might be the worst saw to work on because you have to take them mostly apart to fix simple issues.

They were probably cheaper than that new. I just got a 110. Got it for free. Have not tried to start it yet. Just another Mini Mac :msp_scared: In fact its still in the back of my pickup haha

They are not a bad saw just not worth driving two hours for. In fact the only saw I drove very far for was a SP125. Most people give away the little Mini-Mac saws for next to nothing.

No way would I ever think of paying that much for one even if it was across the street from me.

The Mac 110 originally came with a 10" solid nose bar.

I paid $69.99 for mine new in 1979.

$130-$150 new at the time.
Actually only about $90 new. It usually does not run because it has no spark, even with a brand new plug. It may have compression and look very nice, but with no spark, it's a dud.

Probably needs a new ignition module and finding one for sale is next to impossible. I fear these saws were never designed to be fixed. If you buy one that does not run, just salvage the rest of its parts for the few left that do run.
