I think the distel is a good hitch,

That's because it's a closed taughtline

Just think of it as a 3:1 taughtline tied off at both ends. Tie one end to a Fixe and the other to the carabiner then the pulley closes the system.

I'm with you I learned on a taut line and tried the blake's once but I perfer the taut line.

To answer your question, I didn't start on a Tautline. I started on a Blake hitch. As soon as I learned about the closed loop hitches the Blake was history.

I moved to the Schwabish and Distel. Now I go between the VT and the Knut...............the Knut has been my choice for the last 2-3 years!!!


The VT needs revisited!!!!
