I guess the stars finally aligned just right and I got a chance to finish up my White Birch. I think it's been less than 6 months since I slabbed the first batch of logs and I cant believe how fast the wood has started to decay. My rails were over my buddy's house, set up on a big Tulip Poplar, so I had to use whatever I could find, a 2X6, Joe.

Yeah, love my old Homelites. I have two of the 1050's like the one in the pic, and an XL 924 with a 30" bar, that I use for milling. Most of what I mill is pretty soft, Poplar, Pine, and Birch. I have access to to most any hardwoods that grow in the Mid Atlantic area, just haven't tried to mill any yet, Joe.

very nice...thats new hampshires state tree and yet i can never find any bigger than 16" in dia..the beetles get to them.golden birch is also pretty inside and makes nice flooring...great job and nice to see someone found one haha

My family has been in the tree business for 4 generations, in the Metro DC area, and this is one of the biggest White Birches I've seen. Now I have my cousin looking out for big ones for me, he's still in the business, Joe.
