Going to be slabbing some Birch and Cherry near Cedar Run PA over the Easter weekend. I'll be hanging out in the wild for five days with my boys and a few buddies with a run into town for provisions now and again and hit a few trout streams. Anyone want to get together up there give me a holler.

Looks like fun. :rock:

Still winter here. I toasted the transfer case in my woodhauler while plowing snow yesterday. It'll be a while before I get the rig and saws ready for the milling season. :(

Went through a few transfer cases on my old chevy years ago too. I know the pain brother. One thing when you're in town and it goes but out in the middle of the wild is another animal all together. That's not new process it's NO process. Berg Warned me so I'm a Ford guy now.

And.............but...............nobody invited me.........

:msp_mad::msp_mad:

My middle name is "Anyone" and he specifically invited me, and I'm within driving distance. I just don't think the family will let me go on that weekend. Thanks for the invite anyway, Joe "Anyone"

Had a grand ole' time.This mill frame breaks down into a nice small package to transport. This is good when space is an issue.

That stove is a 1969 Coleman 426 3 burner that had never been fired. The saw is a 61 cc Roper from the 60's that rips through Red oak and Cherry Like butter. 14" logs

Nice camp area. Looks like in a stand of Red Pines.

Did you catch any Trouties? Boy they would taste good fried up over the campfire! Yum!

Bob

Mostly all Red Pine. I bring like 6 or 7 lanterns to lite up the camp so the boys can play till late. One of them is a 1922 Coleman QL that burns like it was made yesterday. Another is a 1950 242C that puts out like 350 cp. Most of the others are from the 50's and 60's. Lots of rain kept us from catching any trout but the small streams turned into white water falls that can't be seen most other times of the year. Plus you have to hike to get to these unnamed drafts.

Just curious, how did you determine the date on the Coleman stove?

I have one just like that and would kinda like to know when it was built. Mine has been used & abused, but is still a good stove. I have a Coleman folding stand that came with it (I bought it used) that is pretty neat.

If you look closely at the tabs that hold the tank to the stove you will see a date stamped in them. M/Y. Some had the date stamped on the very bottom of the case but either one were not stamped all of the time and depending on year. Most of all the lanterns were stamped on the bottom of the fount or tank since 1917 and again not all of the time. Any questions visit Terrymarsh Coleman
