Okay How many of you that Own O lets say a Bucket truck or a Skid Steer loader have a minimum fee on this type of machinery before you will Drive/Haul it out of the Yard? And what would that fee be? :Eye:

i have a skid steer and take it out to move the big stuff. of course there is a minimum, unless you take it out with you anyways. the guys who do small excavation around here usually charge around $45 per hour, but i don't know their minimum. if you were to rent a skid steer from the rental yard, you're looking at approximately $225 per day or more, so i'd say a minimum of $150 is fair. i wouldn't take mine out for less than that.

One common way to do it is in the estimating prosess figure the equipment hours seperate from the labor hours.

Some people figure thier bucket and bucket man all in one at 100-145/hr, since it sounds like you use the bucket most of the time, then this is probably your route.

briging the skidder out I've seen mostly between 45-60/hr of actual use + travel time.

The best thing for you to do is figure out your yearly cost on owning and operating.
The you can figure out what that machine needs to make per week to pay for it's self.
Then you are basing you fees on what you need instead of what others are charging.

THe reason i was asking was I wont move the bucket truck for less than 250.00
Otherwise i'd be driving it all over town to remove a 50.00 Branch here and a 30.00 branch there. The skid steer has a 4 Hr minimum on it for like grading work at 85.00 per hr. Now if i quote a lets say 1600.00 Removal its of course all figured in. :blob2:

even my little rayco rg13 stumper has a minimum charge ,infact i wont set foot out of bed unless i get my minimum fee

you guys are way to comically talented to be Arborists :) haha i wonder what minimum fee you two would get on stage ;)

Yeah, I was gonna say - I have a minimum for everything. I won't show up to chip a couple of limbs without making $50 unless I'm already next door or something.
