Just started moddin my 026 pro muffler. Should I drill the holes on through the outer piece and the baffles, or is this all I need to do? Tell me what you experts would do. Information only this saw is stock except for this mod, no porting.

Looks good. Mine is similarly modified, but the entire raised area that you have opened up has been more or less shaved off. Not sure if it needs to be as severely opened up as mine is, but it came to me that way and has always worked fine...might as well leave well enough alone.

No need to go through the baffle, too. It is nice to get the exhaust off to the side, so I'd leave the outer baffle unmolested.

All you really need a a couple of 3/8 holes, one above and one below the existing hole. Inner portion only...

Soon as my tach arrives, I'll be able to set carb and try it out. Im anxious to get the bar buried to see how she works. If Im satisfied, Im gonna mod my 034, since Im still waiting on a damn carb kit, fuel line and impulse line. 2 weeks to get it ordered in, and still aint here! :taped: Thanks to all of you for your opinions and advice.

Hey all, i was just messin with my 026, and noticed there is no adjustment screw for the h setting on the walbro carb. Is this gonna be a problem since I just modded the muffler? Im searchin as you read this.

That is why I asked which carb you have on there......I will let Lake fill you in on the details...

I read your post ultra, but I already did the mod. If I have to I'll get a different carb. I saw the hole for the h adjustment, never thought to look closer. Tried to adjust and realized there was a white rubber housing that blocked the h adj. and behind that is metal.

Do I need to yank the carb and see what model it is? Or is it obvious to you guys I need another? Thanks Ultra

Generally no... the factory setting is usally quite rich, often about 12,500, so you might be just fine with the muffler opened.. but you need to check it. 14k is max.
