After using 2 woodland pro 3/8 .050 ripping chain on about 5,000 bd ft of milling, it was time for a new bar. I bought a Oregon Power match 32" x.050 and decided to try Stihl's picco ripping chain, like Logosol reccomends on their milling setups. I am very pleased with the results! in WRC, I timed some cuts cutting 6" wide x 100" long average time was 25 seconds! With the previous setup, it would take 40 seconds or better on the same cut. I milled around 80 bd ft on a log I had started on before the rains came, and I definitely recoved more boards as well, (thinner kerf). Overall, using the low pro milling chain has done more to speed up my milling production than anything else I have tried. I am very happy with the results. Can't wait to try out some doug fir logs I have waiting!

Another thing I noticed right off, the saw really sailed through a couple 14" plus cuts on some live edge boards I cut off the slabs. This thing rocks:rock::rock:

I had originally planned on ordering the Logosol branded Stihl bar for the picco chain, but one of the gurus at Baileys suggested I just run the powermatch bar, on a new 3/8 rim. So far so good, I sanded off all the paint on the new bar, per suggestion from the Baileys rep, as it is a tad thicker than the Logosol bar, worked well, no hanging up or dragging in the cut, the sprocket tip is a tad outsized for the gauge of the picco chain, but it did not try to come off, or have any other bad tendencies, It will wear in just fine. Oh, did I say this this setup really cuts nice?!:rock:
