I Bought This Last Year And The Small Foot And Small Wedge Just Wasn't Getting It So Heres Some Things That Really Helps Out The Large Plate On The End Is Priceless When It Comes To Splitting Large Pieces And The Taller Wedge Keeps The Stringy Wood From Being Such A Pain But I Did Raise The Cylinder Up To The Center Of The Wedge I Didnt Want To Bend The Cylinder Or I Beam With The Mods Note The Pump Is Belt Driven It Works Great It Can Be Disengaged For Those Really Cold Days Then Engage After Motor Is Warmed Up. Not Bad For A 750.00 Splitter Whatcha Think??

well that's how swisher designed it time will tell I guess I plan on making a 4 way wedge when I get a chance at work

nice splitter, i have a prairie also. i bought a 2in receiver from cabellas and use a 6in drop hitch turned upside down and it brings the trailers out away from the tires and rack.

I like what you did,as most of the splitters have too small a plate and wedge, however, you may want to reinforce the I beam between the rear mount and behind the wedge at the minumum. Raising the cylinders rear mount is like putting a pipe over a ratchet to gain extra leverage,It works, but you may break the ratchet. In this case the ratchet is the I beam.I dont know how heavy duty the beam is from the pictures, maybe it is already overkill, but from the pictures it doesnt look that way.
