Cut sides off, put in stake pockets on the trailer. Setup sides with stake posts, and build a set of log bunks that register into the stake pockets. Don't just stick uprights in the stake pockets, it'll bend them.
Now thats a ideal I like for my dump trailer. Since I built my dump trailer, it has always had removable wooden sides. adding the log bunks, wouldnt be that much of a problem. At least with metal racks, I wouldnt be getting the side broke everytime a careless operator decided to run into the sides with the grapple. This way if i want to hual dirt or gravel, I just put the wooden side boards back on. I have a set of log bunks I bought for the metal I could cut out of them, they would be a little wide, but have a cutting torch and welder so it shouldnt take more than an hour or two to make fit.

I was going to configure the log poles out of something much stronger - im not easy on stuff - hate making extra trips so I over load a lot - I think this is the set up im going to go with. I have the tarp set up already to install. might add a broom/shovel holder as well

The log bunks I have are 4x4 sq tube. They where built and put on a log truck, but they where to light duty and they bent. There's about 40 of tube there and I bought it for $100 figuring I would cut it up for other projects. I think just cutting them to proper width will take most of the bow out and then chopping some off the standards, add some stakes at the bottom to fit my stake pockets and I'm good to go. No more than I can haul on the dump, I dont think I can over load the uprights. I am considering making one side trip down so I can roll logs off sideways, but dont know if the effort would be worth it since the trailer is a dump.
