Hey guys ; give me your suggestions. I pulled all the cylinder bolts from the head ( yes everything is loose and detached). I can't seem to get the upper head w/ the rocker shaft & valves & spark plug hole, loose from the lower piston cylinder. It slips over a small ridge, containg the head gasket & is stuck pretty good. I don't want to hammer on the aluminum cooling fins or break anything. Prying will cause damage. I only want to remove the top cylinder head to install a new " head gasket". All expertise welcome & appreciated.:clap:

The engine is probably a v465. There should just be 4 long studs coming up through the head. As long as all 4 nuts are off it should pop right off. Use a rubber mallet or a dead blow hammer. What you might end up doing is taking the cyl. off too so you can get it on the bench. The only thing you have to do extra is you need to take the long stud out that closest to the valley (that one stud goes through the flange at the bottom of the cyl.) I've had to do them that way many times. Good luck
