Last night, I finally committed my thoughts about my web site to writing. It's article #28 on the articles (menu) part of my site. I held out for a year or more because some trade secrets should not be shared a lot. It's not like nobody knows this stuff, but it's secretive to many.
Anyway, our website, in Oregon (especially Portland) is the primary top ranking website for most prominent keywords that consumers search with (Google was our target to optimize for. We rank well enough, I felt comfortable to talk about this web stuff online now in the niches. We rank high for landscape, designer and arborist.
In my quest, I noticed that here - Oregon - the greater volume of web sites a pertinent to landscapers and landscape designers. I think the designers tinker on their own sites a lot.
The fewest sites belong to the arborists. I would like to see more arborists get web sites.
I don't particularly like climbing, nor do I work every community around here. In addition, many, many consumers here have internet. It would be so much easier and informative if arborists all had web sites to refer people to. It's almost easier and more sensible than giving out phone numbers anymore. It would eliminate the need to carry business cards or flyers from other companies. I'd only need to carry something like a single card with everybody's web address on it.
Web sites don't even need to be used to advertise. They just make great tools for contact and storing a few photos if just that. Domain names are under $10 per year and hosting for as little as, say, $10 per month.
Anyone getting ready to move on a web site this year?
