im pondering on getting one of the new dolmars. i was looking around at them a bit and i found the 7300 for 646.00 pluss tax and the 7900 for 721.00 pluss tax both with a 24 inch bar. my question is, is there alot of noticeable difference in running these two saws. i know the 7900 is a half horse or more powerfull then the 7300. is it worth the price difference? also has anyone run the 7300 against a 372xp and if so what was the outcome. The dolmars look and feel like a really nice saw . im seeing one in my future. just havent figured out yet which one its going to be. also would i be better off to just buy the power head and order my own bar and chain? or would the prices end up about the same anyways. . Thanks for any help on this one :D

Howdy,
If you're looking for a good price on the 79cc version, we're selling the powerheads for $549.95 US. They run the same tail pattern bar as the larger Husqvarna's

I have both a Dolmar 7900 and a Makita 7301 ( the blue & Silver Dolmar version ). Both are great saws! Both 7900's that I have are now Power Ported by Dan Henry. I did however run the 2nd 7900 before I had Dan do his thing. The 7900 has more torque than the 7301. I would suggest getting the 7900. You may as well get all the power you can for the same weight.
