Going to be milling a 36" x 24' log for the University of Pennsylvania. Been down 1 year. Going to need some co-eds to help carry the slabs up to where a machine can move them to the barn (About 150'). I calculate about 700 lbs. at 2.5" at the heart. 20 students on each side? Too bad I didn't know about this when the weather was warmer. T-shirts and a light rain!

When ever you get around to milling that Behemoth, choose one co-ed to take lots of pics. Thats a biggun!

Or better yet, choose an ugly male geek to take the pictures and have the co-ed in the pictures with you.:hmm3grin2orange:

U of Penn has some nice looking cheerleaders. There is enough wood as it is. Surely these girls need some kind of civil credit to round out their education, right?

I was gonna say maybe I could give you a hand but this week isn't good. I'm bumping out a room and a section of my house. There's nothing like waiting till the last minute to do something. At least I got my concrete in before it got to cold.

I just got the 880 out and changed the gas to fresh and put the 42 inch bar on it so I could cut up the slab wood I've been draging home from the sawmill. I've got some kids coming by on Sunday that are trying to earn money for there senior trip. I'm gonna make sure they have lots of firewood to stack.

Well, take lots of pictures and be safe. BB

Thanks for the offer BB. I don't know if we will get it all in two days. It's getting the coeds and cheerleaders together. I got to thinking. Two to four mills could be incorporated on a log this size. First saw gets into the cut by 5 feet then the second and so forth. Slab up the whole log in like 3 hours. You would need a canoe full of wedges. They have more monsters like this including a 3' Black Locust that doesn't fork till 15' for you boat builders out there. And the largest Catalpa I've ever seen. If you feel like a road trip you could stay at the shop. You would have the whole house there to yourself.
