Well I finally got around to making the first cut which took 55 min. 27' at average width of 30". Six inches a minute is as good as I could get. These 2 x 8's and 10's were on site so I did it this way. We're going to pull them off with a wench stack/sticker then bring on the coeds at a later date. I'll schedule the next hottest day

now that there is chainsaw milling! that's probably 3x longer than my longest slab. how did you say that your gonna move em? and what will they be used for? and how the hell are you gonna move em? :)

Bet the nearest earthquake monitor registered when you slid that first slab off....thumbs up to ya!!!

Scott (glad I'm not carrying those) B

That is awesome. Two thumbs up for the ambitious undertaking. I figure with a winch on a trailer you could just pull those right on from the end. So how many tanks of fuel do you go through for 1 cut?

I think Four tanks of fuel in my 880 is more than a gallon. Are you letting that saw rest in between fueling? Wow I bet your hands and ears are still vibrating.

That's a big Slab. I Like to use pipe,Golf balls, and Furniture dollies to roll them If I can. My favorite is Innocent bystanders if people want to Gock and ask questions I put them to work. They'll think twice about comparing their Wild thing to my setup.

Not resting the saw at all. As a rescue/demolition saw it was designed to run WOT 24/7 at 25:1. If I burn it up I'll get another. Sounds foolhardy indeed but it's kickin' tail no doubts. Here is a shot of the clutch.
