Got my second 361 purchased and running over the weekend.

This new 361 is to supplement the first 361 I've had for almost two years now. I've been running the 20 inch bar on it.

This time I decided to go with the 18 incher. A while back I posted a thread seeking advice on whether to buy another 361 or a 440. Based on most of what I cut I finally decided on another 361.

I bought a 100 foot roll of Stihl square cut chisel chain and made up 3 18 inch chains for the new 361, 3 20 inch chains for the other 361 as well as extra chains for my 460 and 026. I still have about 70 feet left on the spool, I believe. My dealer deducted the cost of the safety chain on the new 361 and made me a pretty good deal on the new 361 and the 100 foot roll of chain.

Anyone else using the 361 in tandem?

I'm running essentially the same setup with my two 361's. Both of mine are 'modified' and if I ever need to run a 24"/25" bar on a larger tree, I don't doubt their ability to pull it nicely. However, almost everything I cut in West Texas can be handled by an 18" or 20" bar. I also run 3/8 square chisel on all my Stihl saws.

I think you did good. Though the 440 is more powerfull but when it comes to limbing the 361 is much easier to use. The 361 is a good all around saw, not much wood it can't handle. Unless your really running into big wood all the time the 361 is fine choice, having two set up with different bars just sweetens the pie. I sold many of those saws and the feed back is always the same, its a great chainsaw...

well JMHO I would not have bought another 361, I think I would have opted for a 440 or the 441, to fill the gap between your 460,,,,, and gotten the 18" bar for the 361,,,,

but there's a rumor out that the 361 will be replaced with a strato-charged cylinder saw,,,hence the 362 if I was going to get another 60cc saw that would be it
