I just got a used ms 361 it was for salw locally and I cut two pieces of wood and had to have it. I think this saw is great it came with a 20 in stihl bar and chain 3/8 pitch 50 ga. It was in good condition and had great compression I haggled with him for about 15 minutes but only got him to budge by $20.00. I payed $380.00 for it. How well do you all think I did locally they are around $570.00 with a 20 inch bar before taxes.

I got it to replace the 036 pro I had I will probebly get walkers to do the muffler on it. They did a great job on my 066 magnum more power sound and they welded it up nicely.

Sounds like you did alright on the price Dan. Why not just modify the muffler yourself? There have been pics posted here recently of a couple of variations of muffler mods for the 361. It`s a very simple mod.

Sounds like a bargain to me; if you don't like it, I'll trade you a couple of other saws for it. He He He. I put the three hole mod in the front muffler cover of our 361 and it cuts like a whiz. Just pop those screw covers off the front, remove the screws, take off the entire muffler in one piece, drill the three holes in front, without messing up the basket inside with your drill. Blow it out good with lots of air. Put it back together and admire its perfromance. That's ehp's suggestion too. He said in another thread that this is all the mod a 361 needs.
