took a oak down today at a BRISTOL MEYER SQUIB site today.. all went good. took the top out with the bucket and a ms 200t. roping thing down. another guy wanted to play in the bucket to buck the stick down. he was using a 361....i jumped on a rake..

all the wood stays on the job, cut to fire place lenght...anything over 2 foot had to be ripped in half..another guy grabs our 3 month old 460, starts cutting to length, and ripping the bigger stuff.

the thing stalled and siezed up....sat for a bit and would pull over, but had no copression..same fuel we were using in all the other saws...kinda got sick, when i saw a $950 saw eat it !!! any idea why this would happen ??? i think its under warrenty... was a rocking saw...

Best of luck to you. I hope your warranty is still good. Nobody wants to see a fellow worker have to shell out for repairs.

I just cleaned my 460 yesterday (three-years old). Gave her the airhose treatment followed by a polish with a fluffy rag. I hope if I'm nice to her, she'll be nice to me.

same thing happened to a friend of mine. can't remember the model, but it was a brand new small homeowner saw. first thing i thought was that he hadn't mixed the gas (he has a track record with this sort of thing). he had proper gas/oil ratio so i took his saw in to the shop for him. technician said that the crank bearings were improperly/not lubricated!? i don't know if this is a widespread issue with a bunch of stihls or just his, just something to go on.
