MS200 HS limiter problem

Thanks to all. Got it taken care of. Due to the large one piece rubber cover over the screws, and the cover being also part of the intake plumbing I did the following.
Emptied gas tank.
Removed fuel line from bottom of carb and let it drain into a pan.
Removed air cleaner.
Removed 2 screws holding air cleaner adapter and carb together>
Lifted carb up enough to remove the rubber cover.
Used long nose pliers to remove the limiter per suggestions.
Used a file to remove all areas of the limiter that would limit adjustment.
Be careful to remove all raised areas as the roll pin also limits movement.
Reinstalled all pieces.
It now runs with a pretty good burble but that disappears when you get in the cut. Had rather run a little rich than lean as it was after breakin.

I have a MS200 I need to adjust richer than the cap will allow. I have looked at it enough to know its completely different than the standard Stihl limiter caps which act to limit as well as hold the screw adjustment.
Does the limiter need to be put back in place to stop the adjustment from drifting or can it just be removed?

I don't see as it prevents the adj. screw from moving. That being said, I did remove all raised surfaces on the cap and I did replace it. If you keep the fitting of the cap snug to the roll pin next to the carb it would probably help keep the adj. screw from moving. Maybe this makes sense.

I don't think it holds the screw in place, but you've got it out, there's no reason to not spend the five minutes to file it off and put it back on. It does help guide your screw driver into the screw head when making adjustments. I say put it back in.

Good job, sounds like you got her right where ya want her. Just goes to show it proves one of my favorite sayings, PATIENCE CONQUERS ALL. You put your patrience to the test and you conquered the problem, good job.
