O.K everybody...who's ready to throw some hard earned dollar bills into the TONY NEEDS AN MS200T fund? HAHAHAHAHA!!! In all seriousness it would make my upcoming removal go a bit smoother but i guess i'll have to rely on betsy. Betsy is a finnicky cs-340 with stock 14" on her. :( man do i need something with NUTS!!

they say hindsight is 20/20 .....they were right. God dangit!! i wish i didn't add that last line...i'm asking for it big time.

:D tony

Tony, what you need is a sharp handsaw, at least for branch removal. White pine is soft wood; why drag a boat achor of a 200t around the crown? Last red oak I trimmed no cut was under 6" so I regretted ever pulling that greasypiece of stuff up.

As for needing NUTS

Never mind, but the other 10 folks so far that have read this post might not be so kind.:)

NY Saw Boss,
Just curious, but if you dont have a good saw to do a removal with, why do you call yourself "SawBoss"? Boss of what?

Name History

My old construction boss used to call me the sawboss. he called me that because of the things i could do with a circular saw. there wasn't and still isn't anything i cant or wont cut on a construction job with my Makita. Also, i would anally clean my saw every night as I do now with my chain saws, and i used to get razzed for that as well. I'm building up my skills with the chainsaw now that i'm using it much more often. After this removal is done i'm going to write my name in the stump with my 044.

There's plenty I won't cut with my B&D 8¼" Super Sawcat.  That's what the Sawzall's for...

I bet. Use your hands and not your A$$ and it will go a lot faster and probably end up cleaner.:D

May I recommend a healthy dose of humility... Trees are great beings with much more going on than human beings will ever know... Just remember someday soon, in tree time, a stone carver will be writing your name in granite! Death is after all the great equalizer... Tomorrow may be the trees day to die, and our day is coming soon.... real soon!

Tony, getcha the 200. Don't let nothing stop you from getting it. You shouldn't even be considering taking this job without all the right tools.
Ya sprung for the 044, now spring just a 'lil more.
And forget the handsaw, 'cepting for grabbing yur rope, or cutting suckers out yur face.

I could send you this sweetpee to use on that tree, will make you want that 200 that much more.:)

Hmmmmmm Maybe you shuold get a 100' Extension cord and Prove that theory......:D

I just got a new MS200t (to use) and Holy Smokes does this thing rock! I was running a 020 that had it's share of hours and I loved it, but I have never been the first user of a brand new saw. What a treat! I did a small removal yesterday and when it came time to grab the 260 I figured the heel with it, the 200 can handle the bucking. And it did.
The only downfall to a new saw is the fear of scuffing the pretty thing up.;)

Its no fun cutting with a pruning saw full of sap. You should check out e-bay and see if they got any deals for a stihl or husky 335. I think I saw a 335xpt for sale somewhere on there. Or even the chainsaw forum on here. Maybe I'll sell ya my old 335 if yer interested.

derek and treelopppa will support me when I say SUCK iT UP YOU WUSS you only pay like 450 for a MS200, you pay about half what we have to pay at 900 US dollars, infact a piston and rings for teh ms200 costs us more you pay for the whole saw.
Save some money, work your weekends and get yourself what you need. If someone would sell me an ms200t for 450 US dollars I would dance for joy.
Just get a big handsaw until your ready to stand on your own 2!
