I bumped up an old thread on this earlier today and I can find it but not automatically showing in the most recent posts.
An excellent thread appeared a year or more ago about MS201T series with very hard rope pull. The thread was pretty extensive in what to look for.
My saw is new, a year old, very low hours due to the pull problem. Actually sprained my back 3 weeks ago when I decided that it WAS GOING TO START THAT MORNING.
Has anyone had and made progress on a similar problem? I think it comes down to high compression and the starter pulley diameter. BUT, I had an MS200T which shares the same size pulley (possibly the same PN) and it never pulled like this. The pull is much higher (30 lbs) than even my MS261 without compression release).
I will revert to a floor hold down jig that I can put one foot on, but would really prefer to drop start or start between the legs.
