Hello everyone
Got this 261 last week with broken crank on the clutch side, just between the clutch and the oil pump.
Now oem is listed at 215€ And it’s over my budget. I’ve also seen one on saegenspezi at 56€ And it does look well made , has anyone had experience with it or suggests other Options?
Anyone has a used one?
Thank😜

Did some quick looking and I don’t see that either. Aftermarket parts, yes, but not crankshafts for that model yet.

If it were me, I’d probably say this one is a box of parts for other 261 saws.

I've got two 261c saws with worn cranks, where the clutch bearing sits, so I was contemplating using these after-market cranks. Haven't done it yet though, so I can't comment on the quality or longevity of these parts. If you try one let us know how it goes. For the price difference it's worth a try!

Crankshaft suitable for Stihl MS 261 MS261 These crankshafts are of high quality and manufacturing accuracy. We recommend always replacing the crankshaft bearings when the engine is overhauled. Not an original part. SAEGENSPEZI is a dealer in saw accessories. We deliver accessories suitable for your brand saw with speed and quality. We do not sell original Stihl parts and do not have any business relationships with Stihl.

Well like you said, for that price, it’s definitely worth a try.
I’ll order that and let you know

This could be the most abused 261 on the planet!

Get a complete case off ebay used for around 100
Just saw on eBay and there are a bunch of them but unfortunately they don’t ship to Italy.
I also don’t really trust them because of the wear problem on the clutch end..

Got one 261 crankshaft in the spares. It's a used one that still has one bearing attached

Stihl knew they had a problem with this on 261’s but as usual blamed operator, even though these same operators had 260 and ran same way and no problem. (But think ur saw may be partly operator fault)I think they finally got a handle on it as see very few now-but took how many years??

Good idea. It might be worth a try.

This is what one of them looks like.

Another option could be a needle roller bearing with an inner ring... They're wider than a standard needle roller, usually about 5mm from inner to outer race. Not sure what the shaft size is but you would have to come up with a compromise removing material from both the shaft & the clutch. Removing material from the clutch drum will be easier

Little update:
Bought the crank from saegenspezi and the quality is pretty good, fitted the saw nicely and seems strong. Other parts like clutch drum and piston for a 046 look well made too. Now I have to weld a hole I accidentally punched in to the muffler and finally get it running again
