I have a 550 and had a 261. IMHO the 261 is the best 50cc saw currently made.

Until Stihl gets back to selling heated saws in the US, 550xpg is the only choice so far as I am concerned.

I have heated grips on my 2003 BMW R1150RT motorcycle.

I love to ride in cold weather, as long as the roads are clear. I don't even know if the heated grips on my m/c work.

Heated grip on a chainsaw? I don't need no stinkin heated grips...............

Heated handles on the saw are a delight to work with. Can I live without them? Yup. But when I had a chance to buy a heated 261cm, I took it. The 261 is really a nice saw, and the heated handles means that when it's below freezing, that's the saw I grab for small stuff.

I don't know about power itself, all I know is I really like M-Tronic saws. The present M-Tronic iteration is very very good.
