MS290 or MS361 which will he buy?

Stopped at Stihl dealer on way home to pick up parts and a nice middleaged man was there hefting both saws trying to figure out which one to buy. Dealer laid out all the facts and unbiased sales pitch. Fella asked me what I thought. I said pony up extra money and buy 361(didnt tell him it cured cancer) and he would be happy wood cutter rest of his life. He liked it but not price and liked free carry case that comes with 290. Said he would call in morning to tell him pick. I am sery curious as to what he will pick. I am calling tomorrow afternoon to find out. What do you guys think hell buy?

I once picked up a German made 390, rated at 3.4kW/4.6hp, when they were sold at dumping price here, but let go pretty fast after looking closer at it - not my cup of tea.

If he's broke and squeaks when he walks, he'll buy the 290. If he's got some dough and has same common sense, he'll buy the 361. You gave him the right advice--the same advice that SawTroll, WindThrown, Snelling, Oily Jim, and a dozen others gave me.

Not everybody accepts good advice. Common sense is not so common.
