I am having problems with my ms310 saw oiling. I have done the following.

New oiler. Verified spring is in clutch notch.

Cleaned bar oil guide

Blew air through little round bleeder (or what ever it is called) valve just above and to right of where oil comes out of.

Rinsed tank with gas twice.

After I blow air into bleeder I can start and run saw. Oils fine without bar on. I have pump turned full open so it really puts out. I will put bar on. Go cut and notice it not oiling. Went through a full tank gas and used a forth or less of oil.

What should I do next? I am stumped... [emoji848]

Thanks

Bill

Yes I have. After cutting with it and I and I see it quit oiling. I will pull bar and run it. No oil at all out of oil hole.

I want to help but am confused by this.
I go through the steps in first post.

1. Blow air through bleeder.

2. Start and run without bar. Will oil just fine.

3. Put bar and chain on. Go cut and notice it not oiling.

4. Pull bar and run without bar. Get no oil.

5. If I blow air in the bleeder again and run it. It works fine. But eventually will quit oiling again.

Should I dump oil again and rinse tank with gas. Maybe even cut oil 50/50 with gas to see if that helps?

If it quits oiling during use either the pump is pulling air from somewhere or the vent is still clogged and you are pulling vacuum in the tank. (assuming BRAND NEW OEM pump). With the tank empty and the cap removed try spraying some WD-40, carb or brake cleaner into the vent from the outside and verify that it actually ends up inside the oil tank.

Tank vent, what you call the bleeder is still clogged. Air may not clear it. Solvent chemicals are your friends. I don't suppose that the vent is getting blocked by the bar because it is sticking too far out of the case?

No. It is not sticking out. And it is the factory bar on it still. And yes, a OEM pump

I will pull the pump and use a solvent to clean everything up. And see what that does for it.

Long shot, but on the oil gear that is driven by sprocket, is the dawg leg that is attached to gear tight? Could be loose and not turning gear with load or heat?

It was when I put it together. I will check it when I get the time to pull the clutch off
