I have been cutting out a rotted wood retaining wall and replacing it with stone. I have been cutting out about 20 feet at at time as it is slow going for me to find fetch and haul the rocks and place them.

Of course this is hard on the saw and most of you would cringe but at the end of the day I take apart the MS361 and blow out all the dirty crude.

So I take it apart and when I pull off the cir-clip on the sprocket/clutch drum I cover it with a cloth so it doesn't go flying off. No problem. Clean it out. Blow it out with compressed air.

Replace the drum and the sprocket and washer and go to put the clip back on and Z-I-N-G it goes flying. :censored: :censored: :censored:

I look around the saw, nothing. I lift up the cloth that I had used to cover it taking it off. Nothing. I don't see where but I didn't hear it hit the concrete and it is beside my miter saw station which has piles of saw dust and cut offs and hasn't had a good cleaning in a year.

I get out some magnets and start cleaning up the saw dust and scrap and running the magnets over it. No luck. I clean up all around still no luck.

So now I am :chainsaw: pissed as I am going to have to run out and get another(yes I know I should have a spare:buttkick: ).

I pick up the rag to wipe my hands and out it falls on the floor and rolls under the miter saw station. Of course now it is clean I can easily find it.

So much for being a 10 minute cleaning job!

Been there, done that! Good pics! What replaces the wall now?

I have a few spares of those things.

Stihl's have a little centre in the crankshaft that the nose of some pointy pliers fit in really nice, the clips simply snap back in and the only thing flying around is stories of the day.

We refer to those little snap fastners, of which there are many kinds, as Jesus clips.

Tink...Tink...Tink...Tink...Tink.......:bang:
