I believe it’s actually less expensive to buy the solenoid and filter as a kit than it is to buy just the solenoid

Much cheaper.
I checked through stihls b2b site to confirm.
I am also replacing my black solonoid, just from the feedback from all the good people in here.

The harness is kinda expensive though. Make sure to check it before replacing. Mine was lose inside the carburator part and had to be set strait.

how much should i expect it to be? part number 1140 007 1802 right?

I finally got around to installing the new fuel solenoid. She runs great now! The kit (1140 007 1802) was $54 with tax, pretty easy to swap out.
