does stihl make a set of dogs that will fit a460 that are the same lenght.my dealer had some but the out side one was allways longer than the inside.

The ones on my saw are both the same length I don't think I have ever seen ones that are two different lengths.

The dawgs for the 046/460 are different from any other saw that Stihl makes. Often times people try to put 044/440 dawgs on an 046/460 and they won't line up. The dawgs for the 044/440 are the same as the dawgs for the 064 and 066/660.

In order to get the correct outside dawg for your 046/460 order part # 1128 664 0501 .The other dawgs are a 1122 part number indicating 044/064/066. thanks.

will the out side dog line up with the stock one or is there a part number for a bigger inside dog thanks for your help

The outside dawg is the only dawg that's actually different. It will line up with your stock inside dawg, and you can use any of the stock inside dawgs if you don't have one, except for the special hardwood dawg that came on later model 066s.

Stock dawgs can be too short. Try the pro dawgs from Bailey's.
They are big but you'll get a good bite. :D Lucky

i have seen the pro dogs they look a little too big.I was looking for some thing like what comes on an 066.i think the stock 460
dogs are to short looking for some thing in between.

If you inside dog is a part number 1128 664 0500, try replacing the inside one with a 1122 664 0506 and the outside one with a 1128 664 0501. They seem to be of the large size and look to be the same lenght. Dave

what is the part number number for the dogs that come on the north west version with the bigger side cover
