Thanks to Begleytree for showing me these on his saws.
I found these handles work great with winter gloves and cold starts.
P.S. Notice NO freaking TOWELS under saw sitting on top of 65.
Towels are for broken down busted up 361's. Hehehe jking Talon. Hehehe.

Thats what I cut off elasto-start. Didnt like the feel of it.

kinda partial to elasto start handles.. are these that much better?

Trust me the saws that these went on has tons of compression. Like 200psi min. and no compression release on the 066. It felt quicker and easier on the hand without the darn rubber thingy giving up on the pull with the elasto.
Full grip too, not just 2 or 3 fingers now.
My dad wants one on his little saw that rips his 2 fingers off at times on kick back.

How do you like that 66, Cut? I'm thinking I need a 660 ... in the same way I "need" an M134 -- for horsepower!

Is it bad to run nitrous through a 2-stroke motor? :chainsaw: :jester: :givebeer:

Luv the power of this pup, but i have never ran a stock 066 either to compare. Ran a stock 460 and was not impressed with it.
Nitro yes you can, but thats on another site.

Looks good. You've convinced me - I'm going to put one on my no-compression-release 066 when I re-rope it next. I'd really like to put one on my no-compression-release 076 but I think it would stick up too far on that saw.

Have you found that it gets in the way at all in "real" cutting? Obviously for racing it makes no difference, or even for blocking up firewood in one place, but what about in the woods?

Dont notice it at all. $4 plus tax at stihl dealer.

Hey Kevin, glad to hear you like it. I told ya you would on that 660! put the whole hand to the pull. I only use them on the 046 and the 660. I too cut off the elasto-handles. and the big handles don't break the bank either! I'm told they can snag in the woods, but I only cut in nice clean yards, so noproblem for me.
Mikes idea of one on the trim saw is not a bad idea either. if ya follow his train of thought, he's right. Just might be something there....

Hey guys, can someone post up a part number for these handles? My dealer couldn't find them today when I called - had a store full of Christmas shoppers.

Thanks, Josh

Rawk  Thanks Ultra

Too bad the 'ole boys at Stihl are closed from 12/22 - 1/2 for the HollyDay. Geez, an 11 day Christmas break...just like being back in school.

Thanks for the part number. I think I will put one on the 066 milling saw.
I have a extra starter for it, then I can switch it around if I like.

Any snow mobile shop will have them. I picked up some a while ago for my play saws. They are like 2 bucks through them, and there are differant styles, some are more trinagular, some more flate, yadyada yada. Any Yamaha shop, Polairis, ski doo, etc.

I still like the elastostart handle for my woods saws.
