Glad you guys like them, Dean put one on my 075 milling saw, sounds like a good idea. Seeing as pull starting my splitter is a pain, any advantage is good.

I sell them

$2.50 each in black price varies a little for some colors and styles I do not recommend them for average felling and limbing cause they catch all kinds of stuff and are a pain for that use. They do work well on splitters and such though

The stihl 460 rescue handles are $4. Fit you hand perfect when pulling and comfortable without any sharp feeling edges, unlike the aftermarket ones I tried out.

Becarefull if you drive through the woods on 4 wheeler with one on they can snag on branches..I took my 2 off ..Almost broke starter off..

I ordered a Stihl 460 rescue handle today.
And traded for a new MS260 also, Merry Chirstmas to ME!

and much lighter as well. The snowblower handles I looked at at first were heavy, too heavy for a saw's recoil. made for a larger briggs recoil, imo.

My stock Poulans didnt need those handles, but now that i got some saws that rip your fingers off on a kick back and those elasto-things are alittle cheesy feeling to me.
I JUST WANT TO SAY THANKS RALPH FOR SHOWING ME THOSE 460 RESCUE HANDLES!

Post those 'increi-pull' elastic handles in the tradin' post - bet they would sell like hot cakes at $20 each - I mean, it would be like 50% off sale. Just in time for Christmas!:jester:

Booo, your sarcasm isn't that funny...The big rope one for my 084 was about 16 bucks... Of coarse my dealer isn't out to rape everyone.....

Besides, I think he just cut them..... :jawdrop:

I guess I better try starting a saw with an elasto-start handle to see what the hype is all about. Maybe they really are the cat's meow...I am sure they would be a pleasure on a climbing saw when you are starting it many times a day, and on a big saw with no decomp valve. But, if your saw starts on the first pull it just seems like an expensive gimmick to me.

I knocked them before I tried em too...Thought it was a gimmick, but one 066 I had, no decomp, seemed to kick me everytime. I put the elasto handle on it and have loved them ever since. I have put them on a couple saws that aren't supposed to have them now....
