MS461 Scuffing / scoring the bore intake side

I wouldn`t worry about those pits but pieces appear to have broken off that transfer edge. I would use a round stone ball in a dremel to put a slight radius on that transfer edge before running it again.

That was the plan, I'd hope the pieces broke loose during honing as it looks a bit ''smeared' in that area.

Being a machinist doesn't help but I'm not impressed with the finish at all, pronounced lips on the in and out ports etc, or are for turbulence.... ;)

I have experience of these pits on the cylinder wall, my stihl 020t had one visible when viewed through the exhaust port. Like you, I was worried in the beginning but I thought what the hell and ran it..... my 020t is still running strong today (I must have spotted the pit eight or nine years ago, maybe longer ! )
