muffler mods - enlighten me

i've read a few threads on muffler mods...

could someone give a quick rundown on what all is done to the muffler?

case in point, my 441mag, mod it or no?

I wouldn't bother... I've seen a few that were enlarged, but to no measurable gain. It might make it louder though...

It all depends

If the 441 has a "restrictive" muffler, then there are gains to be made.

If it flows pretty decent, then you can only make it louder. :Eye:

It's a stratocharged engine... The muffler is not overly restrictive, and increasing the flow doesn't necessarily make it work better.
