I dont know if this is the place for this but some folks may enjoy the thread. I have been gathering information, photos and drawings for a logging arch to use with my mules. So I have encorporated a few details from some others that I have seen and came up with some of my own ideas. I also want to use it to pull a trailer and use for buggie rides just for fun and get the mules out. I just started collecting the parts I needed, some for free, some cheap used parts. I figure I have about $200 in it so far and its just about complete other than paint, a hitchpoint, a basket behind the seat for chainsaws/chains etc, a tube for my peavy and a few other odds and ends.

Super nice build you have going there!! Helps to have all the access to the proper tools! Looking forward to seeing your team...I fricken love draft mules! Is your team out of a sorrel jack and Belgian mare?

What are you going to use for your lift? A forward directional roll lift I am assuming?

Right now I just have qurter horse cross mules but I am looking for a draft team this year. That's why the build is pretty skoocum. I built the arch a bit high so I can put a gear driven winch if I want. For now I will see how it goes with A forward directional roll lift.

Thanks, Dog_River

Seen a few of these with a bottle jack to provide lift, and some with a little engine and a hydraulics or a pto, I think some of the Amish use em with a three point conversion so they can use modern equipment, so they don't have to spend a fortune on antiques and rebuilding them every year...
