Just be sure not to go too far with the rakers. Try a little at a time or, as Brad stated, it will jump and grab and be worthless, as well as piss you off, lol! Nice job on that Husky!

i watched the vid a few times trying to see the saw out running the chain and i dont see it. thats decent sized wood. shes throwing big chips and cutn very good.

just bump the rakers down a hair every few sharpenings and your good to go.

i wouldnt worry about it one bit, keep on cutting

What I'm talking about is the engine is free revving too much. There's not enough load on it to do it's most efficient cutting. Try this. Do some timed cuts. Go from light pressure, to medium pressure, and finally to really lugging it down. You'll find that a moderate amount of pressure, which loads the engine fairly good, will give you the fastest cut times.

I'll give it a try, though it will have to be in soft maple. That won't be a fair comparison. That hard stump is only about 5 inches thick at this point, I don't know how to hold it in place to get many more cuts. I didn't put much pressure on it in the video, since it was such hard wood. I didn't want to bog the motor too much. Seems like that saw cuts better with high chain speed, it doesn't have the torque like the 385.

I really think it will handle deeper rakers in the maple. It really tears thru with the same chain on it.

I'm with Brad on this.
Lean on the saw then back of to the sweat spot. You'll get it.
I'm lucky being surrounded by state forest to play in.
As Bowtie said just a little on the rackers, using a spare chain.

just push on it hard enough to find the sweat spot. youl get it.
youl find the sweat pot pretty quick ounce you get to buckn lots of rounds

not to hard not light .

i still think it was cutting verry well in the vid
