I have one aproaching that girth on my property and heading way north of 120 feet... and it's just a baby! Hopefully I never have to deal with that one. I'm with Gary - death to all cottonwoods - before they get us!

Geez, all we have here is cottonwoods it seems...

Beats Russian Olive trees.

Let em grow for a bit then cut em down... before they start to rot. So... 20 years old and its time to fall.:chainsaw:

I hates cutting cotton wood, probably most of the cutting I have done though. My dads got one at his place about to die (for the past 10 years anyway), its well over 11 foot at the base of the stump, its still just dropping limbs but I am dreading it later. At least it wont fall on anything that matters.

Don't that cotton wood smell nice when you cut it:laugh:

It certainly does smell; it brings back memories of old gym socks, dead fish, ranced cheese, the kid who sat next to me in socialogy, (had some BO issues) etc. Grinding the stump smelled a whole lot more than cutting it down.

Nice job Moe,I've taken some damn big poplars/cottonwoods but not quite that big, kill all those damn things, giant weeds they are:chainsaw:

Great job!

I took one down in March that we measured right at 6' where we stumped it. Nightmare tree. Had to rope every bit of it out from over 2 houses. Wish I could have got a crane to it.

All Cottonwoods must die! :chainsaw:
