I just picked up a Granberg Alaskan Mill G776 MK III...never put together and brand new. It also came with a frozen/seized? Stihl 056 AV with a brand new Windsor 36" bar (H83V) and a brand new chain that has never seen wood.

I havent gotten into the saw at all but hope to take a look at it tonight. Appears to be "mostly" there. I will try to take some better pictures when I get some time but here is the craigslist link....the 4th and 5th pictures is what I bought.

Nice pick!

Excellent! maybe you will luck out and the stuck saw might be something dumb like a bolt or screw stuck behind the flywheel.

Maybe the saw is just "stuck" from sitting. Someone may have acquired all those goodies and never got around to using them. Did the seller have any info on them?

the only thing he said was that they had never been used (although the saw is clearly "used"). He bought them with the intention of doing some milling but never got around to it "and now I am to old".

Put the mill together last night and started to get an idea (along with watching some youtube videos) of how I should be using it. As far as the 056 goes...I started to take the clutch cover and recoil off but this thing is definitely not put together like my 455R. I need to get my hands on some manuals.

Quick Update:

I got the saw unstuck. Sprayed some penetrating oil on top of the piston and let her sit and she started turning over. Really wish I had thought to do that before I had taken it down so far.
But this give me a good chance to give it a good cleaning.

Thanks for all the nice comments and I will get some pictures up here when I get my camera back from my neighbor.

That is really good news. Hopefully she sparks for you.

Is there any scoring on the piston?
