Ok..........I thought your new addition was the release mechanism in the end of the Rope guide!

Is that the original ball?

What size hole did you drill to place that on the rope?

yes that is the original ball and i drilled the same size hole that is on the ball already. well the bigger hole on the ball it was a perfict size for velocity so i just followed it through. it worked very nice.

That would work fine. Why dont you just wrap some tape around where the ball is, causing a bulge big enough for the rope to fit through the rope guide pulley and catch on the retrieval clip. Keeps it simple! Good to see development though

i dont understand

it works great. i dont understand what u mean with the tape. please explain

^ cover the ball/rope with tape, i think thats what he means, so the ball stays put.

i think :yoyo: :yoyo:

No. What i mean is where you have the ball on the taper of your eyespilce, instead of the ball, wrap tape around as many times as required to make the a tape bulge the same size as the ball. If you dont have an eyesplice it doesn't work nearly as well because you have to wrap soo much tape to get to the required size.

Get it? I can give you a picture...

Keep it simple? Seems like the ball idea is VERY simple. No moving parts...you don't have to worry about the tape peeling slowly day by day as you work, and honestly, it looks more professional, too.

Nice mod to the rope guide. I LOVE having the snap shackle on the end of mine!

love

.....or you could just let the eye splice itself do the work of the plastic ball. Ive been using ths system here for over 3 years now. The inside keyshaped hole of a screw link is large enough to pass a spice thru on one side and small enough to catch on the other side.
