Here is my dads old log splitter I helped him build 25 years ago. I know there are some things that most would do differently, but the thing has just worked for years, I have replaced all but 1 hyd hose and replaced the old B&S rope start engine with a Harbor freight one....The beam is a little on the thin side, it will twist on tough logs, the pusher bottoms out about 6" from the wedge, but dad used a short cylinder he got for free...I'm in the process of building a new splitter that will be allot sturdier and powerful....
