i cut 7 large canadian populer with my first Chainsaw. a Stihl S 08 54cc from 1964 with 43cm bar and 404 chain, i bought it cheap for 20 euro, it was not running and leaking gas. it was a simple fix, the vlote and needle where loose in the carb. and it was running good again.
it did the job fine. all the splitting was done by hand with an Axe. I 'm in my early 50's and this keeps me in condition.
so my interest is in the vintage saws now.
i just finished restoring my second saw, a Solo 92cc model 60135 from 1967. with a 55cm bar an 404 half chisel chain.
it runs good, maybe i want to port and tune this one and put a 70cm bar on it.
but this will ba another tread.
