My boss told me today, There is a old saw in the pickup
you can have. I know its not much but it tickled me. He
said it was given to him. He was using it one day(1980) when
a neighbor stopped buy, the neighbor took one look at
the old saw and said "Son thats BS" turned around and walked
off, came back in while with a Homelite and said to my boss
"Here take this saw no man should have to use something like that"
Boss put this old saw in the barn in 1980,its been there ever sense.

Piece of junk...I have a pretty good scrap metal guy in my area. Send it to me and turn that freebie into cash.

;)

The old thing don't look to bad, but the piston is stuck.
I put some AT fluid in the cyl, will let it soak a week or
so. Also put oil in the oiler, give it a pump or two, it still works.
After I took the pics, wiped off a little spot paint looks good under
all of that old dirt.

Be carefull, I got my first FREE saw the other day. So far I have about 100$ in the thing.

10$ carb kit, About 6$ in paint,5 or 6$ on little bolts and crap, a 58$ bar, and an 81 link chain that I have not picked up yet and am afraid to ask what it costs.

You will have to keep us posted with your progress. It will be nice just to get it running and be able to say that you have used it.

Ive got one almost identical to that. Bar mount and dogs are different. Thirty five pound killer. Just let it rest on the log, gravity will make the cut for you.

Yes I would like to hear it run and make a cut or two, but I'm
not going to put much money or time into it.
Anyone know about how old it mite be?

I think mine is like a 56 if I remember right. Id say yours is a few years newer. Mine is gear drive. That one appears not to be??

Those old Bradly's are cool, from a nostalgia stand point. Dad's got one we run time to time and I have one that is parts. The first time I ever cut with one of those I had a new found respect for the old timer's and the equipment they ran.

You did better than me! I got my first free saw last week......... a Poulan Wood Shark (please don't laugh) with roasted crank seals..........Oh well, it was FREE :biggrinbounce2: LOL ! ! !

Matt

Well lets see. For free... hmmm. Got a bunch of cast homelite parts and a solid bar from my neighbor. My David Bradley 360.. a runner.. ran me $25. Oh wait. I put a new pull cord on it. The saw that could cost me.. and has in stuff I've gotten looking for parts is a Partner p-85 I got for $10. What I ended up getting on the journey was a homelite super 2 for $20ish.. a target tile saw for $60.. and yup a deli slicer for $25

i got skilshop for free

i got a little skilshop chainsaw runs good. only thing is the model number is not what is pictured on the acres site. my saw has no hand guard. my saw says made in the usa when it was really made in canada. the model number is 1705.
