I am having trouble rebuilding the plastic style chain brake handle on my 268XP. One of the dogs was broken on the knee link and the forked spring was also in two pieces. I purchased replacement parts, but am baffled how the coil spring is installed. Any help on this would be appreciated.
I did not disassemble this handle by choice. The chain brake did not work and when I pulled the plastic flag handle off, it exploded like a peanut can of springy snakes. I later found the coil spring in the pocket of my hooded sweatshirt, but I do have all the parts.
Exploded parts diagrams are vague, no good youtube videos on this subject can be found. Perhaps someone knows if this design was used across other models?
